Signal Wavelength Converters

MPBC’s VERSA2 Wavelength Converters receive 1310 nm signals from client terminal equipment and convert them to DWDM C-band optical signals, which can then be amplified along the link using our VERSA2 EDFAs or Distributed Raman units. The signals arriving at the receiving terminal are then converted back to 1310 nm for input to the client terminal equipment.

Wavelength converters are available for data rates ranging from 155 Mbps to 10 Gb/s in SDH or GbE protocols.

Wavelength converters can be configured as stand-alone units or paired with EDFAs in the same VERSA2 package.
