MPBC’s OSC Wavelength Converter converts the client 1510 nm OSC wavelength from a CWDM channel into a C-band DWDM channel (i.e., Ch15 at 1565.50 nm) to accommodate long distance transmission.
This unit separates the client-side incoming 1510 nm OSC (operating at STM1 data rate) from the C-band signals, converts the 1510 nm wavelength to a defined ITU Grid Channel, then re-combines the extracted C-Band signals with the CHxx OSC wavelength to be sent to the booster amplifier launching into the link.
On the receive side, the incoming CHxx OSC is decoupled from the C-band signals and converted back to 1510 nm, before being re-combined with the extracted C-Band signals for input to the client terminal equipment.
