2RU ROPA Pumps

The longest repeaterless reach in the industry

Positioned at the link's terminal sites, the ROPA pumps provide 148x nm power to the passive ROPA element which then generates high gain out in the span and amplifies the incoming signals, resulting in exceptionally long signal reach without the need for regeneration. 

ROPA solutions are typically considered when link spans exceed the capabilities of Raman co- and counter pumps alone thus avoiding the use of high cost repeaters.

2RU Conventional ROPA Pumps

MPBC’s conventional ROPA Pumps are designed to pump a passive ROPA element. This process generates gain out in the span, amplifying incoming signals to support extended link reach and/or increased capacity.

2RU 2nd Order ROPA Pumps 

MPBC's 2nd Order ROPA pump models offer the flexibility to position the passive ROPA element at a greater distance from the terminal sites, thereby extending the signal reach compared to conventional ROPA pumps.

2RU Cascaded 3rd Order ROPA Pumps

MPBC’s patented 2RU-CRP third-order cascaded ROPA pumps deliver high power at 148x nm to a ROPA element. Our 2RU CRP models allow for the passive ROPA element to be placed further from the Receive site than conventional or 2nd Order ROPA pumps, resulting in the longest repeaterless signal reach in the industry.

Remote Optically Pumped Amplifiers (ROPA Elements)

ROPAs are passive devices that are spliced directly into the link at a certain distance from the terminal sites. MPBC's ROPA elements are designed to have the lowest noise figure, ensuring the longest reach in the industry.
