Hero Project - Brazil
We’re excited to announce that this March 24th, MPBC, in collaboration with its partners, successfully launched the world’s longest optical amplifier system for the utility sector. Impressively, this system was designed, built, and put into operation in just five months!
The system features an innovative point-to-point configuration, which operates without the need for intermediate regeneration points—devices typically used to boost signal strength over long distances. This is a key advantage, allowing for uninterrupted connections across vast distances.
The system spans 460 km from Xingu to Serra Pelada in the State of Pará, and an additional 435 km from Serra Pelada to Miracema in the State of Tocantins, utilizing standard G.652D fiber with a transport capacity of 1GE.
This milestone was achieved thanks to our advanced Versa2 and 2RU ROPA pumps, renowned for their reliability and high performance. These cutting-edge technologies played a crucial role in realizing this significant advancement in optical amplification.
