Free Space Optics

Free Space Optics (FSO) is a wireless communication technology that uses light to transmit data through the air, rather than through optical fibers or cables. FSO systems use infrared or visible light beams to send data between two points, typically over distances ranging from a few meters to thousands of kilometers. Because it relies on line-of-sight, the transmitter and receiver must be directly aligned, and the data transfer occurs securely at very high speeds. FSO is used in various applications, including last-mile internet connectivity, Optical Inter-Satellite Links, and wireless LAN extensions.

One of the primary advantages of FSO is its ability to deliver high-bandwidth data transmission without the need for physical infrastructure, which makes it highly flexible and cost-effective in certain situations. MPBC offers customizable high power amplifiers and lasers that can be used for free space optics applications.
