FBG Operator
The FBG Operator works in a clean room environment to prepare, write and test fiber bragg gratings. The operator has the ability to perform the required tasks with a high degree of accuracy and quality. The position requires the worker to possess a high degree of manual dexterity and steadiness in order to handle small objects and perform the intricate fiber work. Employee must be able to read and comprehend written instructions as well as follow verbal direction as necessary.
- Manufacture products from technical datasheets, drawings and internal specifications.
- Prepare writing station, calibrate equipment and calculate fiber annealing factors.
- Capacity to splice basic fiber types (single mode, multimode, etc)
- Operate different scientific equipment (OSA, sources, power meters, splicers, recoaters, etc)
- Possess the ability to reason, analyze and display understanding of basic math skills
- Read and follow processes
- Ability to identify tooling and equipment required.
- Capacity to inspect gratings before and after writing process
- Experience with Excel and windows operating system
- Capacity to work in a clean room environment
- Respect and follow clean room procedures
- Keep accurate records and orderly data files
- Capable of basic laser alignment
- Capacity to use standard polymer index recoater
- Capacity to inspect gratings before and after the writing process
